The Nikola-Lenivets Classroom is a centre for research and proposition on the New Rural condition based in the creative environment of Nikola-Lenivets, the largest art park in Europe. We offer multidisciplinary research and educational programmes and are part of the GLOBAL FREE UNIT
Classroom programmes carry out deep research in the new rural condition and draw on the rich resource of practices developed as part of the Nikola-Lenivets over the last 20 years
In each research project we model future development scenarios for Nikola-Lenivets and rural life, in relation to emerging technologies and changing economic and social realities
We propose physical infrastructure, architecture and development frameworks for the Park. That can also be used in similar post-agricultural territories world-wide.
Classroom projects incorporate a live-build element, which means we often build interventions with our own hands using local renewable materials, to answer the needs of the local community
